I'm offering periods of locum cover of one week or over to the more isolated areas in Scotland. So that practice owners can give themselves or their optometrists time off; while being rest-assured that their business will be kept open and running in experienced, capable hands.
I moved to Aberdeenshire for my pre-reg in 2013, have been living and working in the area ever since, and have been lucky to travel round a bit of Scotland in a non-professional capacity. Having been struck by how in-demand good locum cover is in Grampian, I now see an opportunity to offer longer periods of locum cover to the more isolated areas in Scotland, and see some more of the beautiful country at the same time.
A friendly, outgoing optometrist performing a thorough examination and detailed consultation tailored to your patients individual needs and requirements. I am not simply a refraction machine.
Before the period of work commences I will visit the practice on my own time, so you can get to know me; and I can get to know you, your practice, your patients and your products.
I am IP qualified and have experience managing a large range of acute and chronic eye conditions, including dedicated dry eye clinics. I have a special interest in paediatrics and experience dealing with non-tolerance issues, binocular vision disorders, and patients with additional needs.
While I am well aware of the commercial pressure all optometric practices are under; I cannot, and do not, oversell to patients. I offer an honest, thorough consultation and professional advice.
I aim to offer services to those areas in Scotland that find it hard to attract experienced, reliable locum cover. I cannot promise that I will not, at some stage, offer that to one of your competitors.
I am based and work regularly in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. I will try my best but, due to the nature of the areas I am offering services to, it will not always be possible for me to provide sickness cover at the drop of a hat.
